Pete McKenzie is an investigative journalist based in Sydney. His work has repeatedly appeared on the front page of The New York Times, as well as in The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Economist and National Geographic.

In 2024, he was named the Sir Harry Evans Fellow in Investigative Journalism, working with the global investigations team at Reuters.

Also in 2024, he was a finalist for the Livingston Award for International Reporting. In 2023, he was named Reporter of the Year at New Zealand’s Media Awards.
